VORDAN KARMIR

01. HOW ALL STARTED?

1. It all started when two classmates, childhood friends Davit Grigoryan (lead guitar) and Vahan Poghosyan started to listen to rock music when they were in the 8th grade.
Sooner when they were inspired by the sounds of electric guitar, they decided to learn to play guitar. After learning a few basic chords they found out that they are too lazy to learn and cover their favorite songs, and it's high time to write their own. It was easier and more interesting. Vahan suggested to gather a band and name it Senexes.
It was already 2002 and hell knows what it means.
Senexes band had several gigs in their home town Vanadzor till 2005.
In 2005 Davit Galstyan (bass) and Vardan Paremuzyan (ex-drummer of VK) joined the band.
Vahan Poghosyan suggested to change the name of the band because he wanted the band name to sound Armenian and have meaning and philosophy.
Vahan suggested VORDAN KARMIR.

(Vordan Karmir is a name of red paint in Armenian. In the past it was very popular cochineal in the world. That color was used in paintings, king's clothing, medicine, carpets and in many other things. It was made of special endemic insect in Ararat valley, Armenia.
Now the secret of making that paint is lost. And VK members decided to refine the lost value in their music.)

So everything started when all 4 members said Yes to the new band name.
In 2010 Payqar Chakhoyan joined the band as a drummer.
During 10 years of existence VK had many concerts in Armenia, played gigs in Georgia, Russia, Ukraine, London, Germany and Spain, appeared in several local and international music festivals. Released one full-length album (A4) and two EPs.

02. HOW DO YOU DEFINE VORDAN KARMIR MUSIC?

We know that we are playing rock music, with elements of folk and metal. We think that it is not our business to define our music, it is up to critics.

BLOODSCRIBE

01.HOW ALL STARTED?

Bloodscribe was formed by Jesse and myself (Jasan) in 2004

02.WHAT´S YOUR INFLUENCES?

We all have both individual  and similar influences, for example myself (Jasan) I have a large background in hardcore (Terror, Harms Way). Some similar influences we have are bands like Dying Fetus, Disgorge, Despised Icon, Through the Eyes of the Dead, Slipknot…

03. DID YOU HAVE PLAYED MANY GIGS?

We’ve been playing shows for over 10 years so, yes we have played tons of shows. We’ve have our share of great, good, and horrible shows… it’s all part of playing in a band.

04.HOW´S THE ACTUAL LINE-UP?

The line up right now is currently complete with the latest addition of Dennis Martinez (Sick) on Bass but the rest of the members have been around for most of the bands time.
Jasan – Vocals
Joseph – Guitar
Mikey – Guitar
Jesse – Drums
Dennis - Bass

05.TELL US MORE ABOUT CD: PROLOGUE TO THE APOCALYPSE?

Prologue to the Apocalypse is our long awaited first full length album, it embodies Bloodscribe as a whole and showcases the sound we have long been evolving into. Our main focus was putting together an album that would be both heavy and aggressive.

06. COMMENT ABOUT THE ¨GORE HOUSE PRODUCTIONS¨?

We’ve always had a “do it yourself” mentality starting the band, from recording to printing our merchandise but signing with Gore House Productions has been great for the band as has helped us reach new audiences. We gained a lot of new fans, just the first week after announcing the signing our Facebook likes went up by almost 1,000 and merch sales on our online store raised as well. We couldn’t be happier with all the help and hard work Carlos (Gore House Productions) has put into promoting us and getting this album to do great.

07. WHAT MERCHANDISE DO YOU STILL HAVE AVAILABLE?

We currently have a few design up on our Online store, some current and some older. We are currently working on new design in time for the release of the album as well as for the upcoming shows we have ahead.

08. HOW ARE YOUR NEWS WORDS?

So far we’ve gotten some really good feedback from a lot of people who support the album. Things are looking good and hopefully the good responses continue.

09. WHAT DO YOU THINK OF RELIGIONS?

Let me start by saying that I’m a big believer of “to each their own”…
When it comes to religion, for me personally I grew up in a catholic household although I don’t follow nor consider myself to be religions. I feel that religion weakens our society and allows people to justify their shitty actions. Think for yourself, work hard for what you want, and don’t be an asshole.

10. ANY LAST COMMENTS?

I just want to say thank you to everyone that has helped us along the way and all the people that have gone to our shows, we appreciate the support. Hope everyone likes the album and hopefully we can fly out to play some international shows soon!

Thanks

Melissa

WORSELDER

(Guillaume (vocalist) for Worselder).

01. TELL US ABOUT THE BEGINNING OF WORSELDER?

The band was born in 2007. James (Guitars) and myself (Guillaume, vocals) were playing together in a band called ArcLite; Mitch (drums), Yoric (Guitars) and Yannick (Bass) were in the band Gunslinger. At the time, both bands were actively looking for musicians to complete their line-up, so we finally decided to merge the bands and created Worselder.

We put our entire forces in composing original songs, and played our first gig in 2008, opening for Firewind in Toulouse (France).

02. WHAT ARE YOUR INFLUENCES?

It is difficult to give the whole list or Worselder’s influences. I’d say that we could be influenced by any kind of artist, and any kind of music. Among metal bands, I would mention for example Coroner, Pantera, Devil Driver, Gojira or Testament as being our main references, but you can hear many other influences in our music.

03. HOW DO YOU DEFINE WORSELDER’S MUSIC?

Worselder’s songs are a melting pot of many metal types. The music is mainly composed of massive riffs, close to stoner type, with predominant thrash hints. The vocals are in the straight line of heavy metal. When we write music, we always keep in mind to make something built for live experience. We don’t give much importance to the technicality or the complexity of the structures. We just play what seems to us to be musically efficient! The result is crushing “in your face” metal, that is appreciated by the public and a real pleasure for us to play on stage.

04. WHAT IS THE ACTUAL LINE UP?

As most of actual metal bands in our style, Worselder is composed of a rhythmic section based on two guitars (James and Yoric, the other members of the band being Mitch (drums), Yannick (bass) and myself (Guillaume, vocals). The line-up is stable since the birth of the band, and no one of us could imagine playing in Worselder with other musicians. First of all, we are a band of really close friends, almost brothers… I can say that worselder is more than a band, it’s a family. We also share a deep love for beer and red wine !

05. COMMENT ABOUT YOUR LYRICS?

I a way, our lyrics are not very original. They are inspired by various considerations about the actual way of the world. As many lyricists, when I have to write a text, I want to express about the feelings I have at the moment. This leads me to write lyrics that are engaged, socially and politically. If I take the example of the three songs that you can listen in our last EP (MMXIV – available for free on our website), “The sickening” is about people that have a blinkered view of the world, just changing TV channel to avoid seeing the real life, “Home of the grave” is a squib against the great democracies, that are also the graveyard of human ideals, and “The Haven” deals with the felling of identity loss in the modern society.

06. WHAT MERCHANDISE DO YOU STILL HAVE AVAILABLE?

The only available new material at the time is the MMXIV-EP disc. You can ask us for the CD via our website but you can also download if for free : www.worselder.com orbandcamp.com/worselder.

You can also download our first album (“Where we come from” – 2010).

07. TELL US NOW ABOUT YOUR FAVE BANDS AND ALBUMS?
I already listed previously some of the bands that influence us, but the whole list would be very long ! Concerning our favorite albums, I would just say that we are still very impressed by the albums that are ahead of their time, that initiate a new style or open new musical horizons. The best example for us is the album “Grin” by Coroner.

08. DO YOU HAVE PLAYED MANY GIGS?

Since the beginning of the band, we had the chance to play many live shows, and also to open for great bands, as Dagoba, Firewind, Huntress, Black Bomb A and many others. With the release of the “MMXIV” EP, we plan to book numerous concert dates in 2015, with a strong will to make tours outside of France, maybe Spain or England.

09. WHAT ARE YOU FUTURE PLANS?

We will begin recording a new album in 2015, probably by the end of the year. So we have to do intensive rehearsals and composing sessions until that. As I said, we also plan to tour for the promotion of “MMXIV”.

10. THANK YOU VERY MUCH FOR THE SUPPORT. ANY LAST COMMENTS?

Thank you so much for this interview. I just want to remind your followers that all Worselder’s audio material is available on our website (www.worselder.com) and our bandcamp page (banscamp.com/worselder) : you can download for free our first album (“Where we come from” – 2010) and our “MMXIV” EP. To all listeners, please, don’t forget to go on our facebook page to leave your comments. It is very important for us to know your feelings, so that we can go on improving our music ! Stay Metal !

CONFRONT STAGE

01. HOW ALL STARTED?

Artemi Khorochev:

Well, it all started with the fact that at first I had my first punk project called "The Ahineya", which lasted 8 years. In 2012, we recorded a single in the studio and then there were changes in my personal life.I had to move to live in another city. There, I put together a new composition and even under this name we gave the last concert at a rock festival and released a split with punk band from Serbia - Etiopia. Then I realized that the sound and Power steering new songs - it should be the beginning of a new project, a new history of hardcore punk. And we decided to call the project a different name and rehearse new songs. And founded the project Confront Stage. In January 2013, held the first rehearsal and it was also the date for the creation of this project.

In the same year, 2013. Our two track entered the Brazilian punk compilation called "Chaoz Day 3", which is released in the studio of our friends - Luta Armada.

02. HOW TO DEFINE THE BAND´S SOUND?

Artemi Khorochev:

The sound of our group, our songs came as - that by itself. I bought a great lotion and death metal guitar sound became heavier and hardcore. What I wanted.
And at the studio during the recording sound as we liked as we have reduced and we realized that this is our sound.

03. WHAT´S THE ANARCHO-PUNK?

Artemi Khorochev:

What is anarcho-punk? Everyone sees it differently. For me, anarcho-punk is an open protest against any abuses of human rights and freedoms. This is primarily for my philosophy and outlook.

I think that I do not think one way. The other band members also share this outlook.

04. WHICH ARE THE SOURCES OF INSPIRATION TO WRITE YOUR LYRICS?

Artemi Khorochev:

What inspires me to write lyrics? This, of course, the environment. That is the environment in which we live and have to survive. Seeing as injustice, corruption, banditry and war consumes our world, not just the city. And it can not ignore the unwritten about what is happening. Now, let's say, in our country, terrible things happen: civil war, banditry and murder. People are blind and can not see that the authorities are using it as their cannon fodder and as something unnecessary.

Inspires me to rush that at least the music and words to bring people the picture of the world in which we live, and they do not see. We strive to change something in their minds. Whether we get it or not, we do not know. But the main thing that was not indifferent.

05. TELL US MORE ABOUT THE MUSIC ¨HANEPEKOP¨.

Artemi Khorochev:

The song "НАПЕРЕКОР" (in English "Defiance"). Was written in the summer of 2009. This song is a scream of the people,
scream simple working man against the bad attitude of the state over the individual. The song previously heard in my first project after the collapse of it, we decided to resume it collectives, and adjust to weight and add to our project tracklist Confront Stage.
And the song took on a new sound, a new breath and strength of rebellion!

06. TELL US ABOUT THE SCENE UKRANIE.

Artemi Khorochev:

About Ukrainian punk scene? Ukrainian hardcore punk scene was formed only in the early 2000s. it then began to appear the first group of such direction, including us. my first project "The Ahineya" Which was formed in the summer of 2005.

While many guys were inspired by a group of foreign and Russian wave hardcore punk. With time everything changes. And changing attitudes of people in the punk movement and the direction of punk. At this stage, due to a big problem in our country. Many groups disbanded
And those who try to stay in place, continue the hard way punk.

07. WHICH IS THE IDEOLOGY OF ¨CONFRONT STAGE¨?

Artemi Khorochev:

basic ideology Confront Stage - is awareness of what is happening, advocacy on human change the world for the better, at the destruction of the old stereotypes and fail in this new and bright. There is also the idea of anarcho-syndicalism. We tried to show everyone, including ourselves a way to change. After all, to change the world, we must first change myself.

08. WHY THE NAME ¨CONFRONT STAGE¨?

Artemi Khorochev:

Why the group is called CONFRONT STAGE? Well, probably because it was the first in my head, I wrote)) lol. In fact, it expresses the essence of the human resistance soaked with mud and cynicism environment. Essence of resistance from the barricade scene. Something like this ..

09. TELL US ABOUT FAVORITE BANDS?

Artemi Khorochev:

Favorite bands, in fact, many. we love both old and new bands playing in the old ways of the New York school hardcore, hardcore punk, street punk and crust. The Exploited, The Casualties, Acidez, Luta Armada, Nirvana, Defiler, Turnstile and others. They can be many to list. And also we love to listen to old-school heavy metal, thrash metal and crossover.

10. COMMENT ABOUT THE SINGLE: HANEPEKOP 2014.

Artemi Khorochev:

About our song titled "Наперекор"("Contrary" )
I mentioned above.
It is the lead single from the forthcoming album, which we are currently working on a studio QS Production.

11. WHAT´S MERCHANDISE DO YOU STILL AVAILABLE?

Artemi Khorochev:

Merchandisers in our group no. But we think that in the future that will certainly that will publish it, we'll do. It takes a certain time and money.

Going development, ideas ... and they have long been in our heads))))

12. TELL US MORE ABOUT THE MUSIC ¨ Дети улиц¨. MY FAVORITE.

Artemi Khorochev:
As for the song "ДЕТИ УЛИЦ" (KIDS OF THE STREETS), it was written by one author, my friends from Russia. He wrote to me like: "Hey, dude, please read my texts, which can then enjoy it and you?". I said, "Well good! I appreciate." I have read his work and I was very touched this text. And he said to me, "Take it, I give it to you.".
That's the story of this song.
As I remember, I sat a long time with a guitar and strummed melodies and suddenly in my head sounded a street punk rhythm. I turned on the drum sounds on the guitar processor, and for them I wrote this melody, which now sounds in this song.
actually, this song carries a vital topic for our time with you now. Theme in a song about being abandoned by mothers of children of children who had their identity holds in orphanages and on the streets. Abandoned by their parents and then they hate society and indifferently pass by them all.
Life pushes them to steal and wander to survive in the wild society and their country.
After we recorded this song in the studio and listened to her. We were very pleased wildly. In particular, our drummer - Constantine. He loved the song and became his favorite. And that street punk should carry nature of the text of this song that we actually did.

13. WHAT`RE YOUR FUTURE PLANS?

Artemi Khorochev:

Plans for the future? Do exactly what I'm doing now. and devote time to my family and the future growth of the little punk like me)))
Still plans to release a bunch of albums, concerts make for different cities and countries and most importantly survive the crisis and civil clashes in our country.

14. THANK YOU VERY MUCH ARTEMI KHOROCHEV. PLEASE!!! ANY LAST COMMENTS?

Artemi Khorochev:

And finally I want to say that despite the fact, where each of us to be. in what country. Whether in Ukraine, whether in Brazil - we are all one big family, we are all one.
Punk born where evil exceeds his authority and crossed the line, where a splinter of the world - total, where people are divided into classes and pushed into killing each other. All of us brothers.
I would also like to wish all of Brazilian punks, all of our Brazilian friends, whom we know and who know us. Wish good, good mood, hardcore and victory in the resistance in the difficult battle with the capitalist system and the state. All have peace in your home, prosperity and great punk!
